Our client, one of Malta's leading professional services organisations, is expanding its Finance and Client Accounting team and is seeking talented professionals across multiple accounting and finance disciplines, including: Senior Accountant, Accountant, Accounts Executive, and Payroll, Finance and Office Administrator.

Key Responsibilities

Managing accounting, payroll, financial reporting, VAT, accounts payable/receivable, and office administration activities according to the assigned position.
Preparing and reviewing management accounts, financial statements, VAT returns, payroll records, reconciliations, and statutory documentation while ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Coordinating with auditors, tax advisors, regulatory authorities, suppliers, clients, and internal departments to support statutory reporting, audits, payroll, and financial operations.
Managing a portfolio of clients or internal finance functions, ensuring statutory deadlines are met while delivering a high standard of professional service.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders by providing timely support, financial guidance, and effective communication.
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives by mentoring junior team members where applicable, contributing to process enhancements, maintaining compliance standards, and assisting with departmental projects.

Requirements and Skills

A minimum of two years' experience in accounting, client accounting, payroll, finance administration, bookkeeping, or a similar professional services environment.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, management accounts, VAT procedures, payroll administration, statutory compliance, and accounting principles relevant to the assigned role.
Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a professional, client-focused approach and excellent attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, together with experience using accounting and payroll software such as Sage, Sage Line 50, Shireburn Indigo, or similar ERP systems.
The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment. Professional knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese will be considered essential for the Payroll, Finance and Office Administrator role.

Licenses and Qualifications

The following will be considered an asset, depending on the role:

Fully qualified or partly qualified through a recognised professional accountancy qualification such as ACCA, ACA, or an equivalent qualification.
Degree in Accountancy or currently in the final stages of a recognised professional accounting qualification.
Sound understanding of Maltese accounting standards, VAT legislation, statutory reporting requirements, and payroll regulations.
Previous experience within professional services, corporate services, financial services, or client accounting environments.
Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members for senior-level positions.
Excellent command of written and spoken English.
