We are looking for an experienced Concrete Laboratory & R&D Technician to join our concrete batching plant in Malta.

Responsibilities

Conduct tests on fresh and hardened concrete and prepare accurate test reports.

Monitor slump, temperature, density, air content, and compressive strength tests.

Manage the sampling, preparation, curing, and testing of concrete specimens.

Carry out quality control checks on aggregates, cement, admixtures, and other raw materials.

Prepare concrete mix designs, conduct trial mixes, and develop/improve concrete formulations.

Monitor concrete quality during production and implement necessary technical adjustments.

Investigate non-conforming test results and follow up on corrective actions.

Monitor the calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Maintain test records, quality documentation, and technical reports accurately and systematically.

Support new product development and cost/performance improvement projects.

Requirements

Educational background in Concrete Technology, Construction Technology, Building Materials, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in a concrete batching plant or concrete laboratory.

Strong knowledge of concrete mix design and concrete production processes.

Practical experience in testing fresh and hardened concrete.

Knowledge of relevant EN and BS standards.

Ability to operate laboratory equipment and interpret test results.

Strong technical reporting and record-keeping skills.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and coordination skills.

Responsible, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Ability to communicate in English.
