The Risk and Compliance Officer is responsible for supporting the organisation's governance, risk management and compliance framework, ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory, contractual and company requirements. The role supports the maintenance of the Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001), promotes continuous improvement and works closely with operational teams to ensure that company procedures and controls are effectively implemented across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Integrated Management Systems
- Maintain and continuously improve the Integrated Management System in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Ensure management system documentation remains up to date, controlled and aligned with operational requirements.
- Support management reviews and monitor the effectiveness of management system processes.
- Coordinate certification, surveillance and recertification audits.
Compliance and Governance
- Monitor compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, contractual and company requirements.
- Maintain awareness of changes in legislation and liaise with relevant authorities, regulatory bodies and external stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Support the development, review and implementation of policies, procedures and internal controls.
- Conduct compliance reviews and provide recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
- Support governance initiatives and promote compliance awareness throughout the organisation.
Risk Management
- Support the identification, assessment and monitoring of operational, quality, environmental, health and safety, legal and business risks.
- Maintain risk registers and monitor the implementation of risk mitigation measures.
- Assist management in evaluating emerging risks and opportunities for improvement.
Incident Management
- Coordinate the reporting, investigation and follow-up of incidents, near misses and non-conformities.
- Manage incident investigations relating to:
  - Health and Safety events and accidents.
  - Environmental incidents.
  - Quality incidents, customer complaints and service failures.
  - Compliance breaches and non-conformities.
  - Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented, monitored and effectively closed.
  - Analyse trends and prepare incident reports for management review.
Audits and Inspections
- Plan, coordinate and support internal audits across all business functions.
- Coordinate external audits, customer audits and certification audits.
- Conduct workplace inspections and compliance checks.
- Monitor audit findings and ensure actions are completed within agreed timeframes.
- Documentation and Document Control
  - Develop, review and maintain policies, procedures, SOPs, forms and management system documentation.
  - Ensure consistency of documentation, reports and company-controlled documents in line with company standards, brand guidelines and document control requirements.
  - Maintain document control systems and ensure accurate record retention.
- Reporting and Performance Monitoring
  - Prepare compliance, audit, risk and management system reports.
  - Monitor relevant KPIs and support the preparation of management review information.
  - Provide trend analysis and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Training and Awareness
  - Deliver training and awareness sessions on compliance, risk management, management systems and Health and Safety topics.
  - Promote a positive compliance and continuous improvement culture across the organisation.
- Operational Support
  - Liaise with operational teams to ensure procedures and controls are effectively implemented.
  - Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence projects.
  - Act as a point of contact for risk, compliance and management system matters across the business.

Key Competencies

Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Understanding of governance, risk management and compliance principles.
Experience in audit management and incident investigation.
Strong report writing and analytical skills.
Excellent attention to detail and document control capabilities.
Ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels.
Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Strong document drafting, formatting and presentation skills, ensuring consistency with company templates, document control requirements and brand guidelines.
Ability to draft clear, concise and practical procedures, policies and management system documentation.
