Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for Maltese and international group entities, maintaining accounting records up to trial balance.
  • Process supplier and customer invoices, credit notes, expense claims and other accounting transactions.
  • Perform regular bank, credit card, supplier and customer account reconciliations.
  • Record and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.
  • Maintain supporting schedules for deposits, advances, accruals, prepayments and other balance sheet items.
  • Record foreign currency transactions and assist with related reconciliations.
  • Prepare payment runs and upload payments to banking platforms for approval.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables, follow up on collections and escalate overdue balances when necessary.
  • Prepare regular cash balance, accounts payable and accounts receivable reports.
  • Support monthly financial reporting and accounting summaries.
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors, providing the necessary financial records and documentation.
  • Coordinate with international colleagues and project teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
  • Assist the CFO with financial analysis, accounting adjustments and ad hoc reporting.
  • Contribute to improving internal accounting procedures, financial controls and reporting processes.

Requirements

  • Practical experience in bookkeeping or accounting, including maintaining accounts up to trial balance.
  • Good understanding of accounting procedures, reconciliations and financial documentation.
  • Strong Excel skills, including lookup formulas, Pivot Tables and reconciliations.
  • Experience using Xero is an advantage, although training can be provided.
  • Previous exposure to group companies, intercompany transactions or multicurrency accounting is an advantage.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple entities, priorities and reporting deadlines.
  • Fluent in English, with strong communication skills.
  • Proactive, reliable and able to work independently while collaborating with international teams.
  • An accounting qualification is advantageous but not essential.

What the Company Offers

  • Direct collaboration and learning opportunities with the CFO.
  • Exposure to international operations and projects across hospitality, procurement, logistics and real estate.
  • Opportunity to take ownership of accounting activities across multiple group entities.
  • A dynamic, entrepreneurial and international working environment.
  • Professional development opportunities within an expanding finance department.
