Role Description The CNC Plasma Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Birżebbuġa. The role involves setting up, programming, and operating CNC plasma cutting machines to cut steel plates and components according to technical drawings and production specifications. Day-to-day tasks include selecting appropriate tools and materials, monitoring machine performance, adjusting settings for precision, and performing basic maintenance to keep equipment in proper working order. The operator is expected to inspect finished parts for accuracy, maintain a clean and safe work area, and collaborate with the fabrication and engineering teams to meet production targets and quality standards.

Qualifications

Strong skills in Machine Operation and Machinery handling, with hands-on experience in CNC plasma or similar cutting equipment.
Proficiency in Machining and Milling or related metalworking processes used in steel fabrication.
Experience in Quality Control, including measuring, inspecting, and verifying parts against drawings and specifications.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and cutting lists.
Good understanding of workshop safety practices and adherence to health and safety regulations.
Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for machine setup and minor maintenance.
Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions and production schedules.
Previous experience in structural steel and fabrication environments is an advantage.
Relevant vocational training or certification in CNC operation, machining, or metal fabrication is preferred.
