The company is seeking an experienced Finishing Painter to prepare and paint interior and exterior surfaces to high standards, complete repairs and finishing work, and follow company quality, safety and reporting procedures.

The company is seeking an experienced Finishing Painter to carry out high-quality preparation, painting and decorative finishing work on residential and commercial projects throughout Malta.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing surfaces, completing the necessary preparation and applying suitable primers, sealers, stabilisers and finishing coats according to the required specification and manufacturer instructions.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

Inspecting walls, ceilings and other surfaces before work begins
Identifying cracks, moisture, salts, loose material, contamination and unstable substrates
Reporting unsuitable conditions before applying paint or covering defects
Protecting floors, furniture, fixtures, windows and adjoining finished surfaces
Scraping, cleaning, sanding, filling and preparing surfaces
Carrying out minor surface repairs and making good where required
Applying primers, sealers, stabilisers and undercoats
Applying interior and exterior paints using brushes, rollers or other approved methods
Completing accurate cutting-in and maintaining consistent colour, texture and coverage
Painting walls, ceilings, woodwork, metalwork and other suitable surfaces
Following colour schedules, product specifications and approved samples
Preventing avoidable paint marks, overspray, contamination and damage
Checking completed work and correcting defects before handover
Keeping tools, equipment and work areas clean and organised
Coordinating with plasterers, gypsum installers and other trades
Recording task progress and completion through company reporting systems
Following health and safety requirements, PPE rules and site procedures

Applicants should have proven practical experience in construction painting and surface preparation. They must understand that the quality and durability of a painted finish depend on the condition and preparation of the underlying surface.

Candidates must be reliable, punctual, organised and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. They should be able to follow instructions, report problems honestly and maintain consistent workmanship without unnecessary supervision.

Experience with spray application, decorative finishes, colour matching or specialist coatings will be considered an advantage. Formal qualifications are beneficial but are not essential where practical competence can be demonstrated.
