Melita Power Diesel, part of the Melita Marine Group, is expanding its finance function and is seeking a commercially minded Assistant Financial Controller. Reporting to the Financial Controller and Group CFO, the role supports management reporting, controls, budgeting, compliance and operational finance across multiple jurisdictions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop towards a senior finance leadership role within a dynamic international group.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with monthly management accounts, reporting packs and month-end / year-end close.
Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and management KPI reporting.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and help maintain accurate financial records.
Support cash flow monitoring, working capital control and financial planning.
Assist with VAT returns, statutory filings, audits and compliance requirements.
Monitor controls, identify process improvements and support stronger reporting discipline.
Coordinate with Finance teams across Malta, Greece, Cyprus, France and Libya.
Support ERP and finance system enhancement initiatives where required.

Candidate Profile

ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent qualification, or in the final stages of qualification.
2-5 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations and financial reporting.
Experience in a multi-company or group environment will be considered an asset.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational and communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail, ownership of deliverables and a hands-on approach.
ERP or accounting system experience is advantageous; fluent English is required.
